Maria Raissaki was born in Hania, Crete, Greece, has finished her residency in the University Hospital of
Heraklion, under the chairmanship of Professor Gourtsoyiannis and has sub-specialized in pediatric Radiology
in Alder Hey Children\u2019s Hospital, UK in 1997-1998 under the chairmanship of Professor Helen Carty.
Dr. Raissaki has been actively involved and devoted in Pediatric Radiology and Emergency Radiology, as a
Consultant Radiologist and Faculty at the University Hospital of Heraklion, Medical school University of Crete,
Greece since 1999.
Maria Raissaki is currently Associate Professor in Pediatric Radiology at Medical School, University of Crete,
Greece, European Society of Pediatric Radiology (ESPR) Board member and head of the ESPR Educational
Committee, co-chair of the ESPR child abuse taskforce, past member of the CORE committee for the
European Board of Radiology as case submitter and examiner, member of the editorial board in Pediatric
Radiology journal, active member of the Hellenic Society of Radiology, Hellenic College of Radiology,
European Society of Radiology (ESR) and ESPR. She has served as chair of the Pediatric Radiology
subcommittee for ECR 2016 and a reviewer for Paediatric Radiology and for 8 more medical journals. She has
been member of PPC for paediatrics during ECR 2013-2015, Chair of Paediatric scientific subcommittee,
Programme Planning Committee (PPC) for ECR 2016, EPOS reviewer for 2017-2021, member of ESR Education
Committee 2019-2023.
Maria Raissaki has authored 94 publications in peer-reviewed Pub med\/Scopus databases and 8 chapters in
pediatric Radiology\/Radiology books (5 international including co-authorship and co-editing of the paediatric
Radiology chapter for the e-book for undergraduate medical students) with 2384 citations, h-index 26, i10-
index 42 (Google Scholar). She has attended 70 national and international Educational Courses on Radiology
and Paeditric Radiology as continuous radiological education, has delivered more than 280 invited lectures in
National and International Courses and Congresses (including ECR, ESPR, ECPR, ESOR, BCR \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 \u0391egean
Courses) on different topics in Emergency and Paediatric Radiology, including abdomen, MSK and child
abuse, and has contributed to more than 190 scientific abstracts in International and National Congresses
with 7 awarded scientific papers, including ESPR Young researcher\u2019 Award in 2005. Maria Raissaki is
responsible for the Annual Postgraduate Programme of the Radiology Department which includes more than
40 lectures per year, and for the Clinical-Radiological Interdisciplinary meetings with the pediatricians,
Neonatologists and pediatric Hematologists, organized twice a week for the last 20 years. Google scholar<\/a>
