1. Academic advisors
a) The decisive body of the Program appoints academic advisors at the beginning of each courseaccording to the provisions of Article 16, paragraph 1α of the Internal Regulation of the Postgraduate Studies of the University of Crete (Government Gazette 5941/12.10.2023/ Issue B’, “Approval of the Regulation of the Postgraduate Studies of the University of Crete”, Annex of the certification package No A11), depending on the number of postgraduate students.
b) The task of the academic advisor is to guide and provide guidance and advice to postgraduatestudents for the progress and successful completion of their studies. For this purpose, the academic advisor sets specific days and hours of cooperation with postgraduate students. The services of the advisor are purely advisory in nature and do not oblige the students to whom they are provided.
2. The University of Crete provides the following support services for postgraduate students: theStudent Counseling Center, the Support Unit for Foreign Students, the Unit for Equal Access for People with Disabilities and Special Educational Needs as well as the Student Support Unit, the administrative organization of which is defined in the administrative services organization of the University of Crete.
a) The purpose of the Student Counseling Center is to provide counseling services to students fora smooth transition in their academic life and to address occasional difficulties in developmental, personal and educational issues, looking forward to the successful completion of their studies.
b) The purpose of the Foreign Student Support Unit is to provide administrative support servicesto foreign postgraduate students in order to ensure their smooth integration into the academic community of the University of Crete as well as to carry out procedures related to their stay and residence in the Greek territory.
c) The purpose of the Unit for Equal Access for People with Disabilities and Special EducationalNeeds is to ensure the full participation of postgraduate students in all educational, research and administrative activities that take place at the University of Crete with the ultimate goal of successfully completing their studies.
d) The purpose of the Student Support Unit is to provide advice on the postgraduate programsof study operating at the University of Crete, as well as the administrative and advisory support of postgraduate students for the selection of an institution for the conduct of the Internship if this is provided for by their program of study.
The Coordinating Committee of the Programme appoints academic advisors at the beginning of each course and depending on the number of postgraduate students.
