Economic Theory and Policy
About This Course
The Department of Economics announces that applications for the Graduate Program in “Economic Theory and Policy” for the academic year 2024‐2025 are now open, based on the provisions of law 4957/2022 (Hellenic Government Gazette 141 issue A).
The Program aims to specialize students in Economic Analysis and Policy issues and to provide its graduates with the necessary skills for a professional career in economics‐related professions. The nature of the Program highlights the necessity of a multifaceted analysis of the issues focused on Economic Analysis and Policy, according to which the students of the Program will expand their knowledge in terms of:
- the theoretical tools in order to understand the problems of economic analysis,
- the practical skills for planning and implementing economic policy,
- the methodological tools for empirical analysis of economic applications,
- the operation of the financial system and the decisions of investors
Duration of Studies
The Program awards a master’s degree (MSc) upon completion of a three‐semester studies program: - 2 semesters for courses and 1 semester for the preparation of the thesis (FULL‐TIME ATTENDANCE) OR
- 4 semesters for courses and 1 semester for the preparation of the thesis (PART‐TIME ATTENDANCE).
In both cases attendance to the Program courses is compulsory.
The language of the Program, both for teaching and for writing the thesis, is Greek and/or English.
Applicants are required to have an officially recognized Bachelor Degree in areas such as economics, finance, business administration, mathematics, physics, engineering and computer science.
