About This Program

The School of Medicine – University of Crete, organizes the Postgraduate Programme in “Vaccines and Prevention of Infectious Diseases” .

The Programme is addressed to graduates with officially recognized undergraduate degrees in areas such as Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Public and Community Health as well as to graduates with related subject degrees.

The Program aims to provide high quality education on the theory and practice of vaccines and infection prevention. Strategies for disease prevention, crisis management, communication with the family, interaction with both the community and the Healthcare authorities are implemented. The objective of the Program is to train the participants, especially those involved with the child and the teenager care, to acquire the skills for clinical service in the community and hospitals, health service providers and organizations focusing on vaccinations and prevention of infectious diseases for the general population and highrisk groups, during emergency situations, e.g population movements, epidemics, or disease outbreaks.
