Quality Policy

 

 The quality policy of the School of Medicine of the University of Crete is fully harmonized with the quality policy of the University of Crete and focuses on ensuring and continuously improving the quality of the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, as well as the educational, research and administrative work of the Department.

The quality policy of the School of Medicine of the University of Crete is made public and disseminated to the interested parties, so that its academic and administrative staff and students can implement it and be held accountable to it.

The School of Medicine of the University of Crete is committed to the implementation of a quality policy which promotes the academic profile and orientation of the curricula, the subjects of the programmes and their objectives, implements the objectives of the curricula, determines the means and ways of achieving the objectives, implements the indicated quality procedures, with the aim of continuous improvement.

The School of Medicine organizes and implements study programmes (undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral) of high academic standards and significant added value in the major fields and areas of science of the School of Medicine. In the School of Medicine, as stipulated by the Quality Policy of the University of Crete (QP), the interconnection of teaching and research, the linking of research and educational objectives with social needs and the promotion of achievements and progress constitute actions of particular importance for the quality of the services provided.

In particular, the implementation of the quality policy of the School of Medicine for the postgraduate Programme “Cutting-edge Technologies in Visual Sciences” requires the implementation of quality procedures that ensure:

  1. the appropriateness of the structure and organisation of the postgraduate study Programme
  2. the pursuit of learning outcomes and qualifications in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education level 7
  3. the quality and effectiveness of the teaching work in the Programme
  4. the availability of teaching staff with suitable qualifications for the Programme
  5. the establishment, implementation, and monitoring of specific annual quality objectives for the improvement of the postgraduate Programme
  6. the qualifications obtained by the graduates that are in demand in the labour market
  7. the quality of support services (administrative services, libraries, student support services, etc.) for the postgraduate Programme
  8. the efficient use of the financial resources of the postgraduate Programme from any source
  9. an annual internal evaluation and review of the quality assurance system for the postgraduate Programme with the cooperation of the Quality Assurance Group (OMEA) of the Department and the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP).
