Short bio

Nick Tsiatis is a Court Qualified Ballistics Expert, serving since 2001, in the Section of Firearms Examination Lab of Forensic Science Division of Hellenic Police, located in Athens. Physicist, graduate of the University of Athens (2012), MSc in applied physics (2014). In 2018 he completed his PhD in wound ballistics research field, at the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology department of School of Medicine, in Athens. He is teaching in the Hellenic Police Academy since 2018, subjects related in Forensic Science. He is the author/co-author in 19 publications (articles), as has also presented more than 20 technical papers about traumas in human body caused by shootings, in several seminars abroad. Nick is a distinguished member of the Association of Firearms and Tool-Mark Examiners (AFTE), member of the International Police Association (IPA) and member of the Hellenic Physics Union. He is the first author of the recently published book, entitled “Handbook in Wound Ballistics” (2023, Parisianou publications).
