Short bio

After completing the radiology residency (Board certification in 2016), Evangelia Vassalou undertook a fellowship program on Musculoskeletal Radiology at Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi/Milan, granted by the European School of Radiology and the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESOR/ESSR Exchange Program for Fellowships, 2017). She completed her PhD thesis at University of Crete, in 2017. Currently she works as a consultant radiologist at Sitia District Hospital and as a research associate at University Hospital of Heraklion. She is the author/co-author of 35 Medline/Scopus publications, 5 chapters in books, more than 50 announcements in national/international conferences and has given more than 30 invited lectures. Seven of her announcements have been awarded in national and international congresses and has been granted by the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR Young Researchers’ Grant, 2015) . She has been involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program of the University of Crete/Faculty of Medicine, since 2016. She serves as a reviewer for 9 peer-reviewed medical journals and is an active member of the Scientific Program Team and the Musculoskeletal Subcommittee of the European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2022-2023).
