Short bio

Rozalia Dimitriou is an Assistant Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Crete and a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Academic Orthopaedic Department, University Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI), Crete, Greece. Dr Dimitriou has worked as a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the UK from 2013 until 2020. Her main interest is paediatric orthopaedic trauma and general paediatric orthopaedic conditions as well as neuromuscular conditions, especially cerebral palsy and myopathies. She completed her Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the UK; and a Research Fellowship at the Academic Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics, Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds, UK. Dr Dimitriou has a Degree of Doctor of Medicine (PhD equivalent) from the School of Medicine, University of Leeds, UK. She is a member of EPOS (European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society) and currently she is the President of the Paediatric Department of Ε.Ε.Χ.Ο.Τ. (the Hellenic Orthopaedic Association).  She has numerus additional educational activities in Greece.
