George J. Tserevelakis

George J. Tserevelakis is currently a Research Associate at the Laboratory for Biophotonics and Molecular Imaging of IESL/FORTH and a visiting lecturer at the Biology Department of the University of Crete. He received a B.Sc. in Physics (2006), a M.Sc. in Optics and Vision (2008) and a Ph.D. (2013) from the University of Crete, Greece. During 2013-2014, Dr. Tserevelakis was a Research Fellow at the Technical University of Munich and member of the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging. His main project was the development of a novel, hybrid imaging system integrating non-linear microscopy modalities, such as Multiphoton Excitation Fluorescence and Second / Third Harmonic Generation with Optoacoustic Microscopy and Raster Scan Optoacoustic Mesoscopy. His research interests include the development and application of novel optical and optoacoustic imaging systems for the monitoring of complex biological processes in a label free manner at microscopic and mesoscopic scales. He has published 29 refereed scientific papers in international journals, 5 papers in peer-reviewed conference proceedings, 1 book chapter and has 1 patent to his name.
