Georgios C. Manikis is currently with the Computational BioMedicine Laboratory (CBML) of Institute of Computer Science at Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), working as a technical staff member. He received his MSc (2007) in electronics and computer engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece and has conducted his PhD thesis entitled: “Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging techniques in soft tissue sarcoma studies – Modeling of quantitative MRI parameters” in collaboration with the Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, University of Crete and the Computational Biomedicine Laboratory, Institute of Computer Science (ICS), FORTH (thesis defense has been scheduled). He has been involved in various national and European projects as a research assistant and software developer. His research interests are in the areas of medical image analysis focusing on radiomics, machine and deep learning. He has more than 70 publications including oral and poster presentations in international conferences, books and journals.
