- Types and application of quantitative research method study designs; introduction to qualitative research method study designs;
- Use of primary databases to access peer-reviewed scientific data; evaluation and critical appraisal of research data and reports; citing research; research proposal; understanding and performance of statistical analyses and interpreting results using SPSS software.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will have acquired the following:
- Choose the right research method
- Choose the right statistical technique to be used with the research method
- Understand when to apply which statistical procedure
- Evaluate, infer, and understand a product, situation, services, or a treatment option through statistics
- Interpret statistical literature, research articles, and the claims made on the basis of statistics
- Make informed choices with respect to methodology and research design
- Apply this knowledge by conducting sound research in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise
