Syllabus
The course covers the following modules:
- Non-Newtonian fluids and linear viscoelasticity.
- Constitutive Equations and nonlinear phenomena.
- Introduction to polymer processing. Flow of polymeric melts in pipelines.
- Examples of polymer processing (film blowing, extrusion, calendering, injection molding).
- Solution of flow problems
- Energy balances
- Special topics
Learning Outcomes
The students are expected to obtain familiarity with basic concepts in rheology and processing of materials, and the different rheological phenomena and processes
They are also expected to solve problems in processing, using appropriate assumptions, and also to understand the pertinent experimental data.
