Syllabus

A broad picture of the field of Photonics is given with an emphasis on topics directly connected to modern applications, such as in telecommunications and nano-photonics.

  2. Modern Lasers: operating principles, ultrashort pulses, and high-power lasers
  3. Ultrafast optics: theory and applications
  4. Non-linear optics: materials, systems, and spatiotemporal phenomena
  5. Optical fibers – Telecommunications
  6. Photonic crystals
  7. Metamaterials
  8. Terahertz Photonics
