Syllabus
A broad picture of the field of Photonics is given with an emphasis on topics directly connected to modern applications, such as in telecommunications and nano-photonics.
- Light and matter, waves, absorption-emission, optical properties of matter
- Modern Lasers: operating principles, ultrashort pulses, and high-power lasers
- Ultrafast optics: theory and applications
- Non-linear optics: materials, systems, and spatiotemporal phenomena
- Optical fibers – Telecommunications
- Photonic crystals
- Metamaterials
- Terahertz Photonics
